Xsite Pro - Web Site Design Made Easy - Easy Website Builder

Having been involved in website design for a number of years and used various software from FrontPage to Dreamweaver MX whilst creating website's i felt that it would be a good idea to write a review on Xsite Pro a bit of software i discovered by accident and have been extremely impressed by it's ease of use and powerful features.

Xsite Pro is a website building program complete with templates that will enable you to get your site online quickly and easy with minimum learning curve. If you follow the excellent tutorials and quick start guides you will have a website designed and online within hours and you will find that places like XSiteProMonthly are adding templates all the time.

As i have said before this really is an easy website builder and takes all the work out of designing a website and getting it on line. It much easier to use than dreamweaver yet just as powerful. Unlike FrontPage it requires no special extensions which can go wrong and corrupt. XsitePro also has lots of lots of drop-down menus to make selecting your settings quick and easy. It takes just a few clicks to change the look and feel of the graphical header, footer and side navigation menu which will be displayed across the enture site. This is a huge improvement over FrontPage themes.

The site build process starts with

Step One - Add Project –

this is where you set up the project details and add title and keywords. You can decide whether to use one of the pre built templates or design a site from scratch whichever option you choose you will find it as easy as abc

Step Two - Add Pages

Xsite Pro makes it easy to add pages to the project and set up the four main components such as header, footer, left and right panel and main body.

The left panel will normally be use for navigation which will create its own links as you add pages. Many people use the right panel for things like adsense

Step Three - Add Publishing Details

Xsite Pro has a built-in file transfer (FTP) tool for uploading your new website that you have just built to your server. Again this is very easy to do and you just need to add a few details such as username, address and password. The only down side we found of Xsite Pro over an ordinary FTP program is that you cannot transfer files back from your server to your PC.

Step Four - Publish

One button publishing lets you transfer your work to the server.

This is a great boost as it will help you choose keywords that should appear in Alt tags or that the number of words in the page description should be more than 20.

Site Maps - It has been proven that websites with site maps including during the website design stage benefit greatly on the search engines. Xsite Pro will quietly build your site map in the background whilst you add pages which when you are creating large sites is a real bonus.

The above are just some of the features that Xsite Pro offer including the ability There are so many other features it’s easy to lose count. Examples include tools to let you create a links page, two types of site map and a contact page. Should you decide you can export the site when done to T Frontpage or Dreamweaver. There also several essential reports such as the To-Do report which lists remaining tasks before your site is complete.

Despite the range of features and tools it’s really quick and easy to build professional looking sites and the SEO tools help ensure you’ll attract traffic as quick as possible.

It does of course have one or two draw backs like the FTP i already mentioned and the source code is not as well formatted as dreamweaver but for the novice to intermediate website designer this web building system is excellent

So if you are new to website design and looking for an easy to use website builder to get you started i would recommend Xsite Pro and as your site grows and your skills improve you can tweak the code in NotePad or something similar.
